Instrument Safety: understanding the hazards of your jobs and surrounding. Understanding everyday PPE and safety use & storge. Learning the basic principal of how Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) works. Hand-tool and Power tool safety is also one of the trainings cover
Understanding control valves & Shut-down valves: Familiarizing our students with the difference in a Control/Shut-down valves, reviewing P&ID and locating valves. Understanding instrument air-heading and regulators. In this section you will understand valve positions NO/NC as well pneumatic impulse lines.
Covering the 4 basic measuring Instruments: Understanding the role of each instrument transmitter in a process loop. Covering location install above/below tap of instrument according to product, reading and understanding installation drawing. This section will cover the process and control theory and give students the understanding of the transmitter role. Students will install transmitters according to install details.
Instrument-air and supports: Students will familiarize themselves with material use to build supports, this will involve hand-tools like hammer guns, hilt drills. Buildings supports according to detail drawing and correct spec on hardware. This course will include basic air-pipe installing to detail, proper air-pipe fitting rotation and tight of air-pipe. Safe use of 535 and equipment storge.
Instrument tubing formulas and bending: In this section learn the secrets of the trade with tube bending formulas for single line to muilt-line tube runs. We will cover a lesson plan on tubing lay-out, gains and lost in tubing bend as well as how identify correct tie-in points. Learn Hands-on bending with tubing from ¼” to ½” tubing. Learn how to use your benders to their full potential. Learn with experience Instrument Instructors the correct methods of tubing lay-out and installation.

The course will be instructed by Thomas Stauber.
Thomas has 25 years experience in instrumentation. He has worked grassroots projects, upgrades and expansions, and shutdowns in various plants around the country. He has worked power plants, and subsea as well as currently working in manufacturing mobile turbine generator units.
The successful completion of this course will culminate in an NCCER certification, validating your skills as an industrial electrician. Your certificate will be recognized by employers nationwide, significantly enhancing your professional prospects.
